PIGMENTATION
Pigmentation is indicated by areas of the skin that have become darker in colour than surrounding skin. Your skin gets its colour from a pigment called melanin. Special cells in the skin make melanin. When these cells become damaged or unhealthy, it affects melanin production, resulting in a change in the colour of the skin. Treatment for pigmentation must therefore be tailored to the individual and take into account your skin, the cause and your desired outcome.
